Union Elevator & Warehouse Co. has been serving customers in the heart of Eastern Washington's farm country for over 100 years.  A leading regional country grain company, Union Elevator has 8.5 million bushels of storage capacity.  The business is a private, stock-held company, the largest privately owned grain elevator operation in the Pacific Northwest.  Union Elevator stock is held by nearly 100 investors, the majority of which is owned by its own employees.

The company was incorporated in 1908 by a group of forward-looking pioneers from Lind, Washington.  Although many other country elevators have ceased to exist, Union Elevator has grown through the years.

Union Elevator handles, stores, and merchandises grain commodities in its market area.  In addition, the company operates a seed processing plant in Lind and provides trucking services to area producers.  The company's facilities are located throughout Adams County, with 16 stations serving its customers.

In 1993, Union Elevator adopted an Employee Stock Ownership Plan.  An ESOP facilitates the transfer of a significant ownership stake in the company to its employees.  The ESOP allowed the company to remain locally-owned.  Additionally, the employee-owners are provided with extra incentive to assure the company's successful operation and to make the company grow and prosper.

Employee-ownership makes a big difference, with Union Elevator's employees now working for each other, for the company, and for most importantly you, our customers!  Pride in ownership has been evident in company performance by good work habits, improved efficiency and customer service.
